I will start you off!

If its hot and you have a fan blowing to cool you down, its not a good idea to sift flour! Two reasons- you end up looking like one of the baddies from Home Alone, and its actually an explosion waiting to happen! Flour particles can spontaneously combust! Wikipedia- Dust explosions can occur where any dispersed powdered combustible material is present in high enough concentrations in the atmosphere or other oxidizing gaseous medium such as oxygen.  Its not a common occurrence but try explaining that one when the hubby comes home!



Bags- of flour and anything else!

If like me, you buy large bags of flour, sugar, fruit etc and pour straight form the bag, once its half empty, cut the spare bag off and use a clippit, or elastic band to close up. Its much easier to get the bottom bits out and the content dont escape though an unseen fold! Also, if you decant your ingredients into containers, be sure to clip the sell/use by date from the bag and either tape it to the outside of the container, or into your food diary. The EHO will love you when you visit, and you won’t be wondering- how long have I had that coconut?????
